Good Food Box The Good Food Box Program, which is a program we launched in March 2013, has attracted over 100 customers from the local community.
The Good Food Box Program allows members of the Downtown campus to pre-order fresh vegetables and fruit, which they can later pick up in the SSMU basement on drop-off days. Food Boxes sold to students are mostly surplus produce from local farms rescued by Moisson Montreal, and contain high quality produce at less than half the price of close-by grocery stores.
In addition, $2 from each transaction goes toward funding the free workshops that we offer. Currently, both the workshops and the Food program have successfully addressed unmet needs within and outside the McGill community, and face increasing demands.
